Title: Kakigori Overload
Finished: August 29, 2025
It's nice to eat kakigori on a hot summer day. Kakigori is a Japanese shaved ice made from pure ice block. Commonly, it came with multiple flavor of sweet syrup topping. Sometimes, fruits and mochi can be added also. It's a common mistake to generalize kakigori with Korean bingsu. While both may seem similiar, they actually quite different. Kakigori was made from pure ice block which water is the only ingredient, while bingsu was made from frozen milk. Kakigori has a rough texture and crunchy, while bingsu is softer snow-like texture. So next time you eat a shaved ice, try to distinguish between them. As an advisory, do not eat kakigori too much or too quickly, as it can cause headaches or stomach upset. Eat in moderation.
